Multiplayer game for EBU
SportzArena was an international multiuser game and chat aimed at European children in the age 8 to 14, boys and girls.
It was launched by 11 broadcasters in 10 European countries in November 2004.
The broadcasters were:
- BBC, England
- DR, Denmark
- RTVSlo, Slovenia
- TROS, Holland
- TSR, Switzerland
- TVRo, Romania
- VRT, Belgium
- YLE, Finland
- ZDF, Germany
- WDR, Germany
- ORF, Austria
Sportzarena provided a fun environment for the children enabling them to play multiuser games and chat with other european children. This without any given language barrieres being a problem. The reason was a unique visual chat using icons instead of words. That way there were a single and uniform language for all users of Sportzarena.
SportzArena was the first major New Media coproduction in the EBU. The coproduction involved BBC, DR, RTVSlo, TROS (NPB), TSR, TVRo, VRT, YLE and ZDF

SportzArena was and still is a unique dynamic flash solution! Unfortunately the game is not online anylonger.
